The Pocket Testament League (UK) is an evangelical Christian organisation dedicated to helping Christians share their faith through provision of pocket Gospels.
Only 6% of UK adults consider themselves “practising Christians.” Together we’re on a mission to change this statistic, one person at a time.
The UK is becoming more and more secular. Churches are declining and there are fewer believers. We are losing our biblical foundation, and our culture is paying a heavy price. Many people have a false impression about what the Bible says because they have never actually read it for themselves.
As the number of “practising Christians” continues to dwindle, the culture in the UK has continued to change. And not necessarily for the better.
How will our friends and neighbours ever know about the transformative power of Jesus unless we share the Word of God with them? That’s where you come in. Our resources
Share the Word of God with those around you by carrying and sharing pocket-sized Gospels of John.
We have the Gospel of John in NIV, ESV and NLT. With over 40 different covers to choose from, the gospels can be used for many different opportunities as you go about your daily life.
In addition we now have French, Arabic/English, Farsi, Spanish, Portuguese, Simple Chinese and Welsh/English versions available. Our current publishing plans include German, Urdu/English, Gaelic/English, Swahili, Lithuanian and German.
If that wasn’t enough, we can now print small quantities of personalised Gospel covers with your church, ministry or fellowship details on the back page.
Our Vision
Our vision is to recruit 100,000 active volunteer members to pledge to read the Bible daily, to carry a Gospel of John in a dedicated pocket (backpack, purse, jacket, etc) everywhere they go, and to wait for God to give them an opportunity to share it.
Our History
Sparked by the vision of a young girl named Helen Cadbury in 1863, who simply wanted to share her faith with her friends, The Pocket Testament League has reached and equipped thousands of Christians to share their faith, one to one.
The same vision to see lost souls come to Christ still drives the ministry of The Pocket Testament League today. Learn more about our history here.
As well as the Pocket Testament League UK, we have sister organisations in other countries including Australia, Thailand, India, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Canada and the USA.
The Movement
As the UK becomes even more hesitant to accept the Word of God, we need to work together.
The Pocket Testament League is a group of Christians who have committed to reading the Word of God, carrying the Word with them wherever they go, and sharing the Word with others. Membership is free and gives you access to a community of support and resources to help you share the Word.
Together, we can help others know God through sharing the Word one to one.
